Prayer Service - Specific & General Requests

Pray for Matt Nagel…

·         Remember:  God is good & can be trusted.

The LORD is good, 
a refuge in times of trouble. 
He cares for those who trust in him,… (Nahum 1:7)

·         Affirm:  no one loves Matt more than His Father in heaven.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! 
How vast is the sum of them! 
Were I to count them, 
they would outnumber the grains of sand— 
when I awake, I am still with you.  (Psalm 139:17-18)

·         Confess:  your weakness, doubt, & fear

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (mark 9:24)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. (Romans 8:26)

·         Surrender:  ask for His highest & best

“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:36)

·         Fight:  pray for defiant hope & His resurrection power in Matt’s body.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.  (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Specifics…

·         Reduced swelling in Matt’s head
·          Balanced blood pressure
·          Protection from infection
·         Decrease in agitation (note: he’s not in pain)
General…
·         Strength, peace, and comfort for Molly (wife), Harper (daughter) & extended family
·         Wisdom over every decision
·         Focused excellence & precision among the entire KU medical staff
·         The power and presence of Jesus

Matt and Molly - I have been following your journey for about 2 years now. We are shocked to hear about this news, and will be faithful to pray for your family. I cannot even imagine what you must be feeling right now!
