one thing remains

I chose to have a song called "One Thing Remains" played at Matt's memorial service.  There is so much hope in this song that it brings me to my knees.

I was reading yesterday and was struck by these words, "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He promised." It's Romans 4:20-21talking about a man with some crazy good faith.

I am praying for that kind of faith today.  God's promise is good: His love remains.

I was thinking about you today, Molly. I heard this song on the radio yesterday and I had I remembered in an instant watching you sing your heart out to it during Matt's service. It was obvious to me on that day that His love and grace was running through your veins, holding you up, on that day. Praying it continues to do that today, tonight, and every day that you need it!

Beautiful Friend,

I have two mini-stories to tell you.

Sometime last March in a service, I stood behind you, Harper and Matt, singing this song. I thought at that time, "whoa, if they can sing that with such conviction and love, then it must be true. If they can live with that confidence, then I can face my entire life with that confidence too."

These are the ways God was using your family.

Sometime in April, I began singing this song and replacing it with "her" or "molly". I sing over and over again, "Your Love Never Fails! It Never Gives Up! It Never Runs Out On Her!" Claiming it for you. To reassure my heart and to proclaim it to God on your behalf.

These are the ways God is using others to proclaim truth in a dark church, sometimes in an empty minivan, at the top of our lungs to the heavens, on your behalf.

You are strong.
Your God is stronger.
